About Woburn LidoWoburn Lido was given to the people of Woburn in 1911 as a gift from His Grace the Duke of Bedford. Since then it has been a popular summer attraction for the residents of Woburn and the surrounding villages. The pool itself still conforms to the same dimensions as it did in 1911 and thus is 23 metres (25 yards) long and 9 metres (10 yards) wide.

Established in 1911Whilst the lido provides an opportunity for a refreshing dip, it also has a number of seating areas and a large grassed area. During the summer this area will be filled with guests enjoying sunbathing, picnicing or even reading a book. Not only does this provide a place to rest after being in the pool, but it also serves as a congregation area where people can meet and come together.

Our GoalThe goal of Woburn Lido is to give the residents of Woburn and the surrounding area both a swimming pool that can be used for training and exercise, and also a place to go with the family. The team works tirelessly to make sure that user comfort and satisfaction is at it's maximum. If you would like to give feedback about your time with us, don't hesitate to get in contact or let a member of staff on site know.

Our Team
Our team is made up of a committee of volunteers and a collection of dedicated lifeguards. The committee is headed up by Murray, the trustee of the Lido. The committee works hard behind the scenes to allow the Lido to run smoothly and to deal with customer enquiries and feedback. They often to be found at the Lido during busy days.
.A number of lifeguards also work at Woburn Lido. Whilst their main priority is first aid and Health and Safety, they will also be able to deal with any enquiries you have during your visit. The lifeguards also work in the background to make sure that the pool water quality is at it's optimum standard for maximum bather comfort, and to make sure that the facility is properly cleaned and sanitised in order to provide peace of mind to our customers. If you have any feedback or enquiries don't hesitate to speak to one of the lifeguards if you are at the Lido, or to get in contact with us. |
A historical feature and family attractionThe Lido has been a feature of Woburn for over 100 years. We understand that not only is it a local attraction for residents of nearby villages, but it is also an iconic piece of history that symbolises a meeting place for the people of Woburn.
